Interior architect Mikołaj Ziemiński of EMTE studio has crafted a bold neo-retro apartment, seamlessly blending striking retro elements with contemporary design. Central to the studio is a built-in shelving unit that separates the bedroom from the living room. Defined by evenly spaced square shelves and finished in textured plywood that matches the kitchen, the unit provides a modest backdrop to more eccentric furnishings, including a curved red plastic pendant light and a pink velvet sofa. Beyond aesthetics, the space is highly practical, with thoughtful touches like a ribbed cast-iron radiator for functionality and retro appeal, and blue Luxfer glass bricks in the shower that allow natural light to filter in from the bedroom.
